Caymus Conundrum White Wine Table'03, CA, USA



A sweet White Wine Table from all around California.

Technical Data:White Wine Table made from 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Chardonnay, the 10% remaining are divided between Semillon, Muscat and Viognier.

Description:Pale golden color. On the nose, fruity aromas infused with floral one. On the palate sweet fruits such as pineapple, apricot and pear are prevailing at the entrance but quickly the palate evolves and shows lemon zest flavors melted with white blossom like acacia and honey. This wine combines sweet flavors with fresh and crisp ones; good acidity and nice balance finishes its description.

Food Pairing & Service:Asian food, spicy dishes. Serve lightly chilled.

  1. Hi Virginie, I have enjoyed reading the wine reviews on your site. I am confused about the conundrum though. You say that it is a sweet white wine. Do you mean that it has residual sugar or do you mean that it just doesn't taste bone dry. It has been a long time since I have had Conundrum but I don't remember it being sweet.

  2. David, sorry for the late answer, regarding the Conundrum white I have to check about the residual sugar because I have to say I don't remember...but fact is it's definitely not dry at all. I'll get back to you later with the answer, thanks for your interest on my wineblog!

  3. I believe Conundrum has changed recently. I've been drinking it for years and it was great food-or-not-food wine for parties. It used to be dry. I saw the '04 at a great price at the local wine store so I picked up a few bottles. Much to my surpise, it's now sweet! Not Sauterne-sweet, but a lot more that just a touch of sweetness at the finish. Has a screw cap, now, too.
